چکیده
Objective The aim of this study was to identify the effectiveness and selective applications preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) by investigating clinicopathologic factors index tumor with or without false lesions on MRI. Summary background data Preoperative MRI is commonly performed in patients newly diagnosed breast cancer, but its clinical significance unclear. Methods A total 103 cancer who had undergone ultrasound followed mastectomy were included retrospective investigation pathologic, clinical, findings. Results showed 29 false-positive 57 patients, 5 false-negative 69 true-positive patients. More found more ultrasound, small-sized tumors early-stage cancer. sensitivity 96.5% 92.3% (P = 0.119), respectively, positive predictive value them 71.5% 72.5% 0.828), respectively. Conclusions useful have large-sized advanced cancers fewer ultrasound.

takeaways from pre-contrast t1 and t2 breast magnetic resonance imaging in women with recently diagnosed breast cancer
background dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (dce - mri) has been widely used in the management of breast cancer, and its diagnostic value in breast imaging has been demonstrated. there have only been a few reports regarding the usefulness of pre-contrast imaging. knowledge about clinically significant findings of preoperative, pre-contrast t1 and t2 mr images will allow more...
متن کاملCounterview: Pre-operative breast MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) is not recommended for all patients with newly diagnosed breast cancer.
For the woman with a newly diagnosed early stage breast cancer, the routine use of pre-operative breast MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) is not indicated beyond conventional breast imaging (i.e., mammography with correlation ultrasound as indicated). There is no consistent evidence that a pre-operative breast MRI confers a benefit to the patient by improving clinical outcomes or surgical proced...
متن کاملRole of Breast Magnetic Resonance Imaging in the Preoperative Assessment and Its Impact on Surgical Management of Patients with Newly Diagnosed Breast Cancer
Objective: To determine the role of breast magnetic resonance imaging in the preoperative assessment of patients with newly diagnosed breast cancer and its impact on surgical management. Methods: In all, 22 patients with recently diagnosed breast cancer underwent preoperative magnetic resonance imaging and subsequent surgery or biopsy between 1 January 2010 and 30 June 2011. Patients with a cha...
متن کاملEvaluating the impact of preoperative breast magnetic resonance imaging on the surgical management of newly diagnosed breast cancers.
HYPOTHESIS Women with newly diagnosed breast cancers may harbor additional ipsilateral or contralateral breast malignancies that are undetected by mammography and ultrasonography. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has demonstrated excellent sensitivity in the detection of breast cancers. However, the impact of routine MRI on the surgical management of new, biopsy-proven breast cancers remains un...
